M Wheeler Pease’s landscape paintings are generally representational in style with occasional added abstract elements. She wants the viewer to experience a moment in time, feel the wind or imagine the scent of the Earth. In addition to landscapes, she paints anthropomorphic characters based on the TyndallStone family of hares, a multiple-year imagining of their triumphs and struggles in the human world. Marilyn has illustrated five children’s books for a Canadian publisher. Her art is held in collections in Canada and the United States.
Marilyn lives in Williamsburg with her husband and Pete, a demonic yet lovable cat.
